    • As students at St. Cloud Elementary enjoy school meals in their cafeteria now that classes have resumed, they have an additional reason to be proud. Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam has named St. Cloud Elementary School as the top winner of the Smarter Lunchroom Challenge Awards, which highlighted the efforts of school lunchrooms around the state at the end of last school year to engage kids in eating healthier foods. St. Cloud Elementary School received the highest ranking on the Smarter Lunchroom scorecard, earning the campus first place in the state. The school's lunchroom was recognized for increased staff involvement, easy-to-reach fresh fruit, and colorful signage promoting the day's entrée and sides. Prepackaged, healthy meals continue to be available this school year for students, including yogurt and muffin combos and chicken salads. Nutrition education and board displays show students that "Happiness is …" present in the school cafeteria.
    • "Our students need a healthy, balanced meal to be at their best throughout the school day," said Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam. "‘Smarter Lunchrooms engage children in fun activities and promote healthier options for breakfast and lunch."
