Celebration K8 School and Blue Ribbon School LogoCelebration K-8 School in Osceola County has been named by the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence organization as a 2019 Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Renew School in recognition of the model work that the faculty, staff, and administration are doing to fulfill the many ever-changing learning needs of students. This is the third time Celebration K-8 has earned the prestigious designation, and the school is currently the only one in the country so far this year.

Based on the Blueprint for Excellence assessment process, the school met the criteria for all nine categories of Critical Performance In Excellent Schools as outlined by the Blue Ribbon organization: Student Focus and Support; School Organization and Culture; Challenging Standards and Curriculum; Active Teaching and Learning; Technology Integration; Professional Community; Leadership and Educational Vitality; School, Family, and Community Partnerships, and Indicators of Success. Designation as a Blue Ribbon Lighthouse School lasts for five years, at which time the school will be eligible for revalidation.

The award will be presented to Kim Manion, Principal of Celebration K-8, during the Blue Ribbon Schools for Excellence National Conference on Sunday, December 15. Following the awards ceremony, Principal Manion and staff will share their successes with other educators from across the nation in a concurrent presentation session. Blue Ribbon Lighthouse Schools commit to sharing expertise and exemplary practices with other schools on a local, regional, and national level, as well as providing mentoring and networking to schools seeking guidance and assistance in school improvement initiatives.

Celebration K-8 and its teachers will be highlighted on the Blue Ribbon Schools website at www.blueribbonschools.com, as well as have its best practices included in the Blue Ribbon Schools Interactive Library of Best Practices database, which shares information from America's best schools with other schools around the country.

"I remain extremely proud of the faculty, staff, and administration of Celebration K-8 for achieving this worthy national recognition, which highlights their dedication and hard work to ensure every child has every chance every day," said Dr. Debra Pace, Superintendent of the Osceola School District.
