On July 11, 2019, the Florida Department of Education released preliminary school grades for Osceola County schools:

·         55% of district schools earned an A or B, and 98% of district-managed schools earned a C or above.

·         96% of district schools raised or maintained their school grade.

·         For the second year in a row, no Osceola elementary schools are on the Florida Department of Education lowest 300 list.

·         Middle school acceleration increased 5% district-wide.

·         NeoCity Academy opened with a grade of an A.

·         Narcoossee Elementary increased from a B to an A.

·         Narcoossee Middle, Celebration K-8, Harmony Community, Osceola Virtual, Osceola County School for the Arts, Professional and Technical High School (PATHS) maintained an A.

·         Boggy Creek Elementary, Chestnut Elementary for Science and Engineering, Cypress Elementary, East Lake Elementary, Hickory Tree Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, and Sunrise Elementary increased from a C to a B.

·         Deerwood Elementary and Flora Ridge Elementary increased from a D to a C.

·         Deerwood Elementary increased 84 points, Lakeview Elementary increased 65 points, Sunrise Elementary increased 53 points, East Lake Elementary increased 47 points, Boggy Creek Elementary and Flora Ridge Elementary increased 43 points, Chestnut Elementary School for Science and Engineering increased 41 points, Hickory Tree Elementary increased 39 points, Cypress Elementary increased 30 points, Thacker Avenue Elementary for International Studies increased 24 points, and Neptune Elementary increased 20 points. 

·         Neptune Middle increased 65 points, Harmony Community increased 37 points, Celebration K-8 increased 33 points, and Discovery Intermediate increased 23 points.

·         Osceola County School for the Arts increased 19 points.

·         Avant Garde K-8, Florida Cyber, Four Corners Charter School, Four Corners Upper School, Mater Brighton Lakes, Mater Palms, Renaissance Charter at Poinciana, and Renaissance Charter at Tapestry increased at least one letter grade.

·         Tohopekaliga High earned a D, being 1% from a C in its first year, based on only eight of the 10 accountability components.  Predictions for the 2019-2020 school year, which would include their projected graduation rate and acceleration rates, are showing the school would earn a C.

“District and school staff members are committed to ensuring continuous improvement across the school district,” said Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace. “For the third consecutive year, district student achievement has improved systemwide.  This is a result of the dedication and hard work of our principals, teachers, and students, as well as the strong leadership of the Osceola County School Board and the tremendous support of the Osceola County community.  As we continue on our continuous improvement journey, we remain committed to ensuring high levels of learning by providing every child every chance every day.”
