1:1 Student Damaged Device Fees
1:1 Student Damaged Windows Device Fees
General Information
As of October 2025, the School District of Osceola County provides coverage for student Windows devices (laptops) that are damaged due to accidental incidents or normal wear and tear. We understand that accidents happen and devices break from time to time, so to qualify for this coverage, accidental damage must be reported and documented when the damage occurs.
Devices that are damaged due to neglect, mistreatment, or intentional actions may be subject to additional fees.
All fees for damaged devices are determined at the discretion of school administration and may be assessed when:
- The damage is intentional
- The device shows signs of neglect or mistreatment
- The device was not protected from damage, such as not in it’s case or padded bag, or left out where it could be stepped on, kicked, or subjected to any other careless handling.
To help prevent damage, all student devices must be kept in the school district provided protective case or padded bag. (Please note that personally supplied laptop sleeves or bags are not considered acceptable protection and will void the accidental damage coverage provided by the school district.)
It is each student’s responsibility to care for and protect their assigned device.
