Purpose

The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program is authorized under Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015.
These special centers are heartbeat spaces found right inside our elementary schools. They are warm, welcoming spots where kids gather to discover their passions, from solving math puzzles to creating art and celebrating their unique cultures.
Supported by a big-hearted national program, these centers make sure every student—no matter their background—has the tools and love they need to grow. It’s about more than just reading and science; it’s about building a strong community where families and neighbors come together to help our children dream big every single day.
