Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are pleased to inform you that the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open. We encourage all families with eligible children to complete the registration process as early as possible.

If your child did not attend VPK during the current school year, they may still have the opportunity to participate during the Summer 2026 session. Families must apply for a VPK Certificate of Eligibility for Summer 2026 by contacting the Early Learning Coalition or submitting an application through the official website of  the;Family Services Florida Early Learning Coalition

The VPK School Year Program consists of 540 instructional hours and is designed to prepare children for a successful transition into Kindergarten. Lead instructors are required to have training equal to or greater than a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Class size is limited to:

  • A maximum of 11 students with one lead instructor, or
  • A maximum of 20 students with one lead instructor and one paraprofessional.

Children enrolled in the VPK Program receive a high‑quality learning experience with educators who meet state‑mandated educational standards. Instruction is aligned with the VPK Education Standards and supports age‑appropriate skill development based on the statewide kindergarten readiness expectations.

As partners in your child’s education, we ask that you continue to support learning at home. Reading with your child every night, engaging in meaningful conversations, and encouraging participation in educational activities greatly strengthens early literacy and overall school readiness.

As we move through the final months of the current school year, we also ask for your support in preparing your child for Progress Monitoring 3 (PM3), which will take place at the end of April and throughout May 2025. Ensuring your child arrives to school on time, well‑rested, and ready to learn will contribute significantly to their success.

Additionally, we remind parents to register for Kindergarten at their zoned school for the upcoming school year. Early registration helps ensure a smooth and successful transition into Kindergarten.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to your child’s education. Should you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our school.

Sincerely,

Evelith Olmeda-Garcia

Director of Early Childhood
