  • Osceola continues to be in compliance with Florida’s class-size amendment with the maximum number of students in core classes being at:

    o 18 students in prekindergarten through Grade 3;
    o 22 students in Grades 4 through 8; and
    o 25 students in Grades 9 through 12.

  • All students in Kindergarten – Grade 12 are provided with an iPAD or laptop for use at school and at home to support their academic work.
  • In order to ensure children have the nutrition they need to learn, play, grow, and develop, the Osceola School District provides breakfast to all students in the district on school days at no cost to families.
  • As a Choice District, the Osceola County School District allows parents to select the campus they want their children to attend, whether it is just down the street or across town.  This allows parents to find the school that best fits the needs and interests of their child, as long as that school has capacity and program availability.
  • Public education is funded by tax dollars, which means we follow strict guidelines and are fully transparent and accountable for our spending. We provide everything from transportation, textbooks, and high-quality extracurricular academic and athletic opportunities to well-stocked libraries, free digital academic resources, free breakfasts, and more.
  • Each one of our public schools in the Osceola School District has a full-time sworn law enforcement officer serving as a School Resource Officer on campus every day.  The district has excellent partnerships with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the Kissimmee Police Department, and the St. Cloud Police Department to ensure that our schools are safe learning and working environments.  The school district has detailed comprehensive safety and emergency plans for every campus, and all faculty and staff have been trained in emergency procedures.
  • In 2023, the Osceola School District earned system reaccreditation by Cognia™, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers. Cognia, formerly AdvancED, nationally recognized the Osceola School District for meeting rigorous standards that focus on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation that meet the needs of learners, and effective leadership.
  • The Osceola School District has a no-tolerance policy for bullying. School staff prevent bullying by establishing and enforcing rules and policies that clearly describe how students are expected to treat each other and fully investigates any claims of bullying in a timely manner. Every district-managed school has a trained bullying designee who supports students with prevention measures, as well as with a proactive approach in teaching and reinforcing appropriate behaviors.
  • Osceola School District’s flexible education options include multi-level schools, such as ones that serve Kindergarten – Grade 8 and Grades 6 – 12.  Such schools are beneficial for students as they can stay at one school instead of transitioning to new learning environments. Multi-level schools allow for a strong sense of community, supportive teachers who have known students for an extended period of time, and excellent cross-grade collaboration opportunities like having older students read to or tutor younger children, which build academic and leadership skills.
  • We are a team of passionate professionals who believe in education that inspires all to their highest potential. Our students have highly-qualified, certified teachers who provide engaging, relevant, and rigorous instruction. Our teachers and employees partake in hundreds of hours of professional development training in their field every year to provide the best instruction and service to our students and families.

Every Osceola School District district-managed high school has a College and Career Counselor on staff to directly assist students in the exploration, identification, and transition into a college and/or career pathway that matches their interests. They also assist students in signing up for college admissions testing, researching colleges and careers, completing college applications, reviewing student college admission essays, and connecting students with financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
  • All Osceola elementary and K-8 schools follow an Elementary Recess Plan that guarantees consistent recess to all kindergarten through fifth grade students in a safe and respectful environment. Students have a minimum of 20 minutes of recess on regularly-scheduled school days and a minimum of 10 minutes of recess on early-release days.
  • All district-managed schools use a data-driven, problem-solving framework to improve outcomes for every student, specific to their unique needs and that align to academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth. If signs of help are needed in any of these areas, schools create targeted individualized plans of support with needed interventions to make every child successful.
